Billy Ray

Bill Ray has been playing drums since the beginning. Finding his
father’s drums at 15 months old and discovering the power of 2
& 4, his purpose on this plane of existence was set in motion
at the age of four, having seen the local drum guru perform a drum
solo at his parents’ photography studio in Jackson, MS.

In 1989 a move to California was inevitable and taking gigs of any
musical style turned out to be a fertile training ground. In 2001
Ike Turner offered BR the gig and as he said many times “Billy Ray
is the drummer of my soul”. Bill played with Ike on up to the end
of his life and played on his 2007 Grammy Award winning album
“Risin’ With The Blues”. Bill also holds over 150 other album
credits to his career in all styles of music from Rock to Jazz,
Country, R&B, Funk, and Eclectic “experimental” styles.

Bill is currently enjoying residence in the beautiful Pacific
Northwest; Seattle, WA.

Lester Lands

Lester Lands has been referred to as one of the greatest unsung
musicians of all time. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and
raised in Baton Rouge. He began playing the guitar at the age of
10 years old and played with older musicians and music groups
throughout his early and adolescent years. During his high school
years, he started to develop other musical gifts, talents and
skills such as vocals, piano/keyboard and other musical
instruments, etc. After high school Lester moved to St. Louis,
Missouri. It was there that he met and played with several
professional Quartet groups and went on the road touring and
gaining great experience. He is a formal educated musician;
however, his real passion and gift is most definitely God given.

Eventually he became a studio musician at Nashboro record’s in
Nashville Tenn. Additionally, he was affiliated with Jewell
Records in Shreveport La.
As a progressive veteran musician
and businessman, became involved with producing and co-producing
various artists across the states.
He frequently traveled
throughout Europe and Asia in concert and felt honored to work
with the late great legendary Sammy Davis Jr. during a 1976 tour
in Japan. Recently he was honored to work with two other American
renowned legends, namely Chaka Khan and Barbara Morrison.
Currently residing in Los Angeles, California he serves a mentor
and local music instructor. Lester was requested to create and
effect a National Football League (NFL) football musical “Tease”
and various other high-profile music projects within the local
blues and jazz communities. He is also an avid Gospel musician
serving as Praise and Worship Leader of several churches and
community project activities within the greater Los Angeles area
and as requested for national and international conferences and
convocations. Creating, playing singing, writing, developing and
mentoring others within the occupation/art or as some would say,
making music is his “Purpose!”
